Strong academic foundation
At AIS, we lay particular emphasis on reading, writing, math, and problem-solving from Grades 1-12. This is made possible with an enhanced reading program - powered by Fountas & Pinnel, complemented by a library of 10,000+ books; an applied math program supported by a math lab; and a hands-on science program which encourages students to think like scientists. In higher grades, we focus on building mastery through tools like Kognity, tiered worksheets, and small group mentorship. AIS faculty prepare students to tackle complex issues by designing learning that is relevant, engaging, and challenging.
Whole child development
Our whole child approach to education focuses on developing each child’s innate abilities and collaboration skills so that they can successfully navigate the world of the future. Our teachers draw on students’ passions, talents, and learning styles to create an education that cultivates the whole child - academically, socially, and emotionally. In their primary years, students are given a wide range of experiences to figure out what they love. In high school, students choose to pursue their passion-based creative pursuits to build their portfolio. Through cultural celebrations and intra & inter-school events, students get a chance to showcase their skills to a wider audience.
Learning by doing, Learning by caring
Care for self, care for others, and care for the community are foundational to the AIS culture. In the PYP, through the 6 transdisciplinary themes, students engage in hands-on experiences and real-world explorations as they work on globally relevant issues. They take on community trips and projects within units of inquiry and design their Grade 5 exhibition with a focus on community work. In the coding, robotics, and design thinking program, middle school students choose one of UN SDGs for their keystone project. In high school, students undertake CAS projects - this equips them to research, plan, learn necessary skills, and make choices that benefit the world.
Becoming future ready
At AIS, our commitment extends beyond the present. From the outset in the PYP years, through our transdisciplinary and inquiry-based approach, emphasis is placed on nurturing research, social, communication, and critical thinking skills. These transferable, 21st century skills are lifelong tools that prepare learners for a rapidly changing world. Our students evolve into great readers, writers, problem solvers, researchers, designers, explorers, and critical thinkers, all while using their growing knowledge and acquired skills to understand the world around them. As they move to higher grades, our college counselling team works with them closely to identify their skills, strengths, and passions and helps them get into their dream college. With AIS, students aren’t just prepared for tests—they're prepared for life.
